About the role
- Conduct thorough market research on national lumber market trends and pricing fluctuations
- Develop and manage relationships with national and regional lumber suppliers
- Implement cost-effective strategies to optimize procurement and maximize profitability
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align lumber procurement with project timelines
- Conduct regular supplier audits to ensure compliance with quality specifications
- Identify and mitigate potential risks in the supply chain
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field
- Proven 10 years experience as a Category Manager or related field, preferably at a national or regional level
- Strong negotiation and communication skills
- In-depth knowledge of the lumber market, industry trends, and regulatory requirements
- Familiarity with supply chain management software and tools
- Analytical mindset with proficiency in data interpretation
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to lift 25 pounds
