About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assist in overseeing all responsibilities assigned to the Standard Loan Closing Team
- Oversee all aspects of closing and funding loan transactions in accordance with program requirements and internal policies and procedures
- Manage processes, systems, and personnel associated with Standard loan closing functions across all programs and products
- Prepare loan documents, coordinate with legal counsel, title and escrow, close loans, and perform post-closing tasks
- Provide day-to-day leadership to the loan closing team, measure Key Performance Indicators, and report to management and executive teams
- Ensure loans are closed within required time frames
- Interface with clients, legal counsel, title companies, escrow agents, business development officers, and underwriters
- Review loan files for accurate closing and provide Quality Assurance
- Ensure collateral is perfected, including proper mortgage and UCC filings
- Work with the loan documentation team to review documentation against approvals and clear discrepancies
- Ensure loans are appropriately disbursed, documentation is maintained, and the correct funding source is utilized
- Ensure client introduction to loan servicing
- Prepare reports for the Board of Directors and CBO as needed
- Support customer retention and communication
- Train staff on program requirements and keep them up to date on lending-industry changes
- Travel may be required
Requirements
What you’ll need- Previous Closing Management experience required
- Bachelor’s degree in related field or 7 years of equivalent experience
- 7-10 years of financial services work experience
- Current experience with Federal loan program policies and documentation requirements
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products, Outlook, Excel, Teams, and SharePoint
- Experience using Salesforce
- Sophisticated word processing and computer database skills, especially Microsoft Word and Excel
- Thorough knowledge of accounting principles, financial statement analysis, operations, and regulations
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work effectively with staff members and build and maintain relationships
- Ability to work in a busy environment, independently, and as part of a team
- Strategic thinking and strong analytical ability
- Active listening skills
- Willingness to adapt to changing business needs and deadlines, including extended work hours
- Assertiveness, confidence, and solid decision-making skills
