About the role
- Own and lead Payments product strategy and execution: Partner closely with engineering and cross-functional stakeholders to drive the creation, planning, prototyping, and delivery of high-impact products and features aligned to key business and product metrics
- Own end-to-end payment experiences: From authorization, capture, settlement, and refunds, to reconciliation
- Drive deep customer understanding: Define complex problems, develop insights across multiple customer segments, and translate findings into scalable product solutions
- Guide roadmap and prioritization: Analyze quantitative and qualitative data to shape the product roadmap, make tradeoffs, and drive alignment across teams and senior leadership
- Communicate and influence: Clearly communicate product vision, priorities, project status, and post-launch performance to a broad business audience; serve as a point of leadership within the product organization
- Mentor and elevate others: Provide guidance and support to more junior product managers and contribute to product best practices across the team
- Integrations with Payment processors: Lead integrations with payment processors, gateways, banks, and third-party financial partners (e.g., ACH, card networks, real-time payments)
- Optimize Payment KPI: Define and optimize payment KPIs such as authorization rates, payment success rates, cost per transaction, fraud loss, dispute rates, and time-to-settlement
Requirements
- 6+ years of direct product management experience and 2+ years experience leading product managers
- Proven ability to lead complex, cross-functional initiatives from concept through launch
- Strong project and stakeholder management skills across projects of varying size and scope; high attention to detail - nuance matters
- Knowledge of banking integration and payment processing including ACH, NACHA processing, and various payment channels, with experience maintaining and introducing new payment methods
- Experience designing and delivering product integrations, including reading, consuming, and working with APIs
- Deep interest in product development, data science, and the intersection of software and finance; hands-on experience with payments platforms, processors, or financial infrastructure strongly preferred
- Familiarity with payment lifecycles, reconciliation processes, dispute management, and transaction monitoring
- Experience building high-reliability systems where accuracy and uptime are critical
- Ability to work effectively across functional groups with an adaptive, empathetic, and influential style
