About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Build and integrate new APIs to elevate the customer journey
Optimise Lendable’s lending platforms
Participate in deep architectural discussions and shape the future of products
Contribute across UK, US and International Expansion product teams, including Zable Card, Autolend, Lendable Loans and Internal Tools
Work within an engineering organisation spanning backend, frontend, mobile and platform disciplines
Build and maintain technology in-house using modern data sources, machine learning and AI
Take ownership across a broad remit and make decisions with material impact on Lendable’s direction and success
Work in small teams to solve problems and develop smarter solutions

Requirements

What you’ll need

Strong, business-oriented engineering background with modern PHP development experience
PHP 8.0+ is required
Fluency in the latest PHP features and best practices
Solid grasp of a modern PHP framework such as Symfony or Laravel
Excellent automated testing skills across unit, integration and functional testing
Genuine desire to learn, collaborate and contribute ideas in a highly collaborative team
High degree of ownership and autonomy
Experience with Domain Driven Design, Message-Driven Systems and Event Sourcing is a significant plus
Familiarity with microservices architecture and financial systems is a bonus
Cross-functional experience is a plus but not essential
Must satisfy applicable right-to-work requirements: UK-based applicants must confirm UK right-to-work status; applicants outside the UK must have legal authorization to work in their country of residence
