About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Own day-to-day AFC operations across transaction monitoring, customer screening, Source of Wealth reviews, investigations and regulatory information requests
- Investigate potentially suspicious customer activity and collaborate with the Team Lead, MLRO and Second Line of Defence on escalations and SAR-related documentation
- Design and improve AFC controls, workflows and work instructions across the customer lifecycle with Operations, Product and Engineering
- Drive process optimisation and operational projects, including transaction monitoring improvements, automation and structured workflows
- Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Operations, Banking, Investing and external partners as an AFC subject-matter expert
- Maintain clear, precise and audit-ready documentation for cases, processes and decisions
- Support operational quality, regulatory resilience and scalable growth of the Brokerage-as-a-Service platform
Requirements
What you’ll need- Substantial hands-on AFC Operations experience within financial services
- Experience with investigations, operational controls and risk-based decision-making
- Practical experience preparing and submitting suspicious activity reports via goAML
- Strong understanding of suspicious activity handling in an operational environment
- Experience improving, automating and scaling AFC processes
- Comfortable contributing to projects across operational and technical stakeholders
- Deep understanding of German and European AML requirements, regulatory expectations and industry best practices
- Fluent German at C2 level
- Confident English communication at C1 level
- Hands-on, ownership-driven mindset and ability to bring structure to ambiguity
- Applicants must be able to work in Germany; visa/work permit status is addressed in the application form
