About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Act as the trusted advisor for Nigerian managers and UK-based functional leaders.
  • Lead the people workstream for our new Lagos office, defining the culture and employee experience.
  • Manage end to end ER cases for Nigeria, resolving complex situations with empathy, fairness, and legal precision.
  • Coach and upskill people managers through training sessions and coaching focused on LemFi’s management standards and compliance.
  • Oversee all Nigerian statutory obligations to proactively mitigate risk.
  • Synthesize local people data to provide actionable insights on retention, engagement, and hub health.
  • Support the rollout of global initiatives locally, adapting the delivery to resonate with our Nigerian team while maintaining global consistency.
  • Work alongside Global People Team to support or lead global projects.
  • Champion the adoption of AI-driven people tools to automate routine administrative tasks.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 5 to 8 years of experience as an HR generalist with significant exposure to the Nigerian market.
  • Proven experience navigating complex employee relations and influencing senior stakeholders.
  • Practical expertise managing Nigerian statutory requirements including PAYE, HMO, Pension, and NHF.
  • Experience contributing to change management programmes such as office moves or performance system rollouts.
  • Strong working knowledge of the Nigerian Labour Act and current employment best practices.
  • Experience working within a global or distributed business, comfortably navigating between local and international stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with modern HRIS platforms; experience with Rippling is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills across cultures and seniority levels.
