About the role

  • Run direct payroll operations for various international legal entities (including US, Canada, Nigeria and UK), ensuring accurate and timely processing in compliance with company policies and local tax and labour regulations
  • Oversee EOR payroll (e.g. for France, China, Philippines) in partnership with Deel and local vendors
  • Support administration of global employee benefits programs (e.g. healthcare, pensions), ensuring accuracy, compliance and integration with payroll
  • Ensure correct taxation of payroll and benefits according to country-specific regulations
  • Ensure timely statutory filings with appropriate government authorities
  • Manage and/or oversee year-end payroll activities globally
  • Maintain accurate payroll records, reports, and metrics for management and audits
  • Partner with People and Finance on compensation, benefits, global mobility and compliance
  • Manage audit processes related to payroll
  • Serve as subject matter expert for payroll, payroll taxes and payroll systems
  • Standardise payroll processes across countries to improve scalability and efficiency
  • Lead audit and review of existing payroll systems, with potential for consolidation or overhaul
  • Proactively identify process improvements and implement automation to scale and drive efficiencies
  • Drive ad hoc payroll improvement initiatives: EOR payroll systems review, new entity setups, new benefits setup and process automation

Requirements

  • Proven track record managing multi-country payroll and benefits, ideally in high-growth tech
  • Strong knowledge of US and Canadian payroll regulations
  • Experience auditing and overhauling/changing payroll systems/processes
  • Hands-on experience with Deel (Rippling a strong bonus)
  • Excellent understanding of payroll accounting
  • Solid understanding of benefits administration across multiple jurisdictions
  • Deep understanding of payroll taxes, benefits, and statutory compliance globally
  • Experience balancing in-house payrolls with third-party providers/EOR partners
  • Excellent analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communicator, able to partner across Finance, HR, and external providers
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment
