About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support the Federal Aviation Administration Eastern Service Area by providing construction oversight for projects
  • Monitor construction activities, report progress and issues, and ensure alignment with project scope, schedule, and objectives
  • Provide on-site construction monitoring, coordination, and quality assurance services
  • Lead and manage large-scale construction projects and field operations
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for contractors, engineers, and stakeholders
  • Ensure contractor compliance with safety policies, regulatory standards, and contract requirements through field oversight and construction quality assurance
  • Monitor construction progress, identify risks, track deviations, and resolve technical and construction challenges
  • Review RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, and work plans
  • Support engineering coordination, constructability reviews, and field-driven design adjustments
  • Support inspections, commissioning, and project closeout, including punch list resolution
  • Maintain reports and as-built documentation
  • Communicate project status, risks, and updates to stakeholders
  • Develop solutions to complex technical problems using independent analysis and engineering judgment

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program
  • 4+ years of experience in construction of commercial, industrial, or government facilities
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, plans/specifications, building materials, applicable codes, and quality standards
  • Ability to coordinate effectively with contractors, engineers, and government stakeholders
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and construction document review tools such as Bluebeam or similar
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights and weekends
  • Ability to meet travel requirements, including a valid driver’s license and passport
  • Ability to perform field duties in active construction environments, navigate uneven terrain, and work in varying environmental conditions
  • Ability to access elevated work areas using ladders and stairs up to 12 flights, including when elevators are unavailable
  • Ability to work in mechanical and equipment rooms with elevated noise and active construction conditions
  • Ability to occasionally lift and carry materials or equipment up to 25 pounds
  • Professional Engineering license or progress toward licensure preferred
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Primavera P6, or Microsoft Project preferred
  • Prior FAA or government project experience, including construction supervision or field oversight, preferred
