About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead a team of Leidos employees and sub-contractors, aligning team direction and goals with organizational and customer missions
- Manage daily contractor operations and serve as the focal point for contractor-assigned tasks
- Address and mediate performance issues
- Provide guidance, support, and resources to team members
- Foster employee growth, continuous learning, and skill enhancement
- Manage team staffing activities and resolve disputes or disagreements
- Work with supported customers and engineers across other NOCs to maximize network availability and minimize mission and operational impact
- Monitor network alarms using platform-specific network management tools
- Document outages, degradations, isolations, escalations, and resolutions throughout service-impacting network incidents
- Assess network incidents and deficiencies and recommend resolutions involving routers, switches, crypto devices, routing, Cisco, Juniper, MSPP, optical transport networks, MPLS, TDM, and SDH/SONET
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree and 2–4 years of prior relevant experience, or master's degree with less than 2 years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- DoD-8570 IAT Level 2 baseline certification, such as Security+ CE or equivalent, held prior to start date
- Ability to work in a 24x7 shift work environment
- U.S. Citizenship
- Active DoD Secret security clearance
- Working knowledge of Transport and IP network topologies
- Prior experience managing and supervising staff in IT or Operations
- Preferred: tech control facility or cyber transport experience
- Preferred: circuit actions and vendor experience
- Preferred: IP architecture experience
- Preferred: Telco NOC, inside or outside plant experience
- Experience with Microsoft Office suite, including Outlook, Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, and Teams
- Experience with alarm surveillance, fault management, LAN maintenance, performance management, or change management
