About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Serve as the primary product owner for the assigned mission-area platform user.
- Lead technical engagement with mission stakeholders to understand operational challenges and gather product requirements.
- Develop, maintain, and communicate a prioritized product roadmap.
- Define product requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and success metrics.
- Partner with platform engineering, software engineering, cybersecurity, and mission stakeholders to evaluate solutions and technical tradeoffs.
- Facilitate product planning, backlog refinement, release planning, and feature prioritization.
- Analyze customer feedback, operational metrics, and platform usage data to improve developer experience and platform capabilities.
- Translate recurring customer needs into scalable platform services.
- Communicate product vision, roadmap priorities, feature status, and release plans.
- Ensure delivered capabilities satisfy customer expectations and support platform engineering standards.
- Build trusted relationships across engineering teams and mission stakeholders.
- Evaluate industry trends and emerging technologies to improve platform capabilities and mission outcomes.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree with 12+ years of prior relevant experience, or Master's degree with 10+ years of prior relevant experience; additional years of experience accepted in lieu of a degree.
- Minimum 8 years of progressively responsible experience designing, building, and operating production platforms.
- Strong expertise in Azure Cloud Engineering and Cloud Infrastructure.
- Experience managing technical products, platforms, or cloud-native services, including product strategy, roadmaps, backlog prioritization, and customer-focused delivery.
- Strong technical understanding of modern software development, cloud-native architectures, Kubernetes, DevSecOps, and platform engineering.
- Experience gathering customer requirements and translating operational needs into actionable product requirements.
- Ability to balance customer expectations, engineering capacity, security requirements, and long-term platform strategy.
- Ability to communicate effectively with executive leadership, mission stakeholders, and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Active Secret security clearance required.
- Position requires 25% travel.
