About the role
- Design and develop electrical systems for buildings and similar structures including power and control signals
- Perform load calculations, determine electrical requirements, select and specify electrical components, materials, and equipment
- Ensure designs comply with local, state, and federal electrical codes and standards
- Prepare and review detailed plans, specifications, reports and other documentation for electrical installations
- Coordinate with engineers, project managers, and construction teams during installation of electrical systems
- Troubleshoot and resolve electrical design issues
- Utilize computer-aided design (CAD) software to create detailed and accurate designs
- Perform cost estimates and assist in budget preparation for electrical projects
Requirements
- Associate's degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or a similar field
- 2-4 years of experience in electrical design
- Previous experience in designing electrical systems for commercial and industrial projects
- Experience designing and working with single-phase and 3-phase AC power
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints
- Experience with CAD software such as AutoCAD or SolidWorks for electrical design and documentation
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret-level security clearance
- U.S. CITIZENSHIP IS REQUIRED
