About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Translate existing on-prem router, switch, and firewall configurations into optimized cloud-native equivalents
- Partner closely with internal engineering teams and government stakeholders to author PPSM documentation
- Direct compilation of records and reports concerning network operations and maintenance
- Create enterprise scoped network-level design documentation for technical and non-technical audiences
- Troubleshoots on-prem and cloud network performance issues
- Analyze network traffic and provide capacity planning solutions
- Monitor and respond to complex technical control facility and software problems
- Interface with vendor support service groups to ensure proper escalation during outages or periods of degraded system performance
- Perform system-level design and configuration of products including determination of hardware, OS, and other platform specifications
- Provide quality assurance review and the evaluation of new and existing software products
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- minimum of eight years in network operations, support, and design
- US Citizen with an active ADP IT-II Public Trust Clearance
- Deep knowledge of TCP/IP and OSI model
- Proven experience designing and implementing multi-layer network segmentation
- Hands on-experience configuring core routing protocols such as BGP and OSPF
- Working knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems
- Experience understanding and managing customer expectations
- Experience coordinating with multiple technical and operational teams
- Experience in assigning tasks to contractor personnel
