About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead space planning and architectural design for government and institutional facilities
- Ensure layouts meet FAA regulations and efficiently accommodate functional requirements
- Develop conceptual, schematic, design development, and construction drawings
- Coordinate with civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, and specialty consultants
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local building codes
- Conduct detailed space programming, circulation analysis, and occupant load planning
- Use specialized architectural and design software (e.g., Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Rhino, BIM)
- Utilize cost estimating and quantity takeoff tools (e.g., RSMeans, Bluebeam)
- Support construction administration through submittal reviews, RFIs, and site observations
Requirements
What you’ll need- Architecture Degree from an accredited College/University
- 8+ years of design experience with commercial, industrial and/or government facilities
- Experience in evaluating building enclosures including roofing and below-grade waterproofing
- Experience including design, failure analysis and Enclosure Commissioning activities
- Ability to obtain and maintain Public Trust Suitability
