About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Work alongside project managers, lead engineers, and account managers supporting various electric utility clients
- Provide Project Management Services related to distribution line engineering projects throughout the Midwestern and Northeastern United States
- Be part of an established Project Management Office within our Power Delivery Solutions division providing consulting services to public-owned and investor-owned electric utilities
- Assist project managers to manage various sized distribution line design projects for public-owned and investor-owned electric utilities
- Accept responsibility for overall project performance and reporting
- Ensure project costs, schedule, and scope are managed, including the development of recovery plans with a focus on change management
- Communicate with clients, internal project teams, multiple engineering disciplines, functional leaders, subcontractors, and support personnel
- Create and maintain resource loaded schedules
- Coordinate with Engineering Leads to track and execute client deliverables
- Assist with the preparation of bid documents, cost estimates, and responses to Requests for Proposal
- Complete monthly client invoicing, accruals, and accounts receivable within prescribed time frames
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, Finance or related discipline is required; or Associates Degree with 2+ years of demonstrated experience in project management and/or project coordinating.
- Must be capable of planning, organizing, directing, and tracking technical efforts on assigned tasks
- Must be capable of tracking cost and schedule status of assigned tasks
- Ability to take direction from and discuss decisions with the direct supervisor, and to coordinate with project team members
- Experience with MS Office Software (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Must be able to interact with customer representatives in an effective manner
- Familiarity with electric power industry and knowledge of business issues associated with power delivery services (Preferred)
- Ideal Candidates will have a desire to obtain PMP Certification (Preferred)
- Experience with project management software (e.g., Jira, SharePoint MS Project or P6) (Preferred)
- Experience working with/previous exposure to US electric utilities (Preferred)
- Previous exposure to electrical and/or construction projects (Preferred)
- Proficiency in Power BI and/or financial management tools (Preferred)
