About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Provide senior technical leadership and accountability for geospatial data engineering delivery, ensuring quality, compliance, and schedule outcomes.
Own end-to-end performance of geospatial dataflows, including ingestion, transformation, validation, and delivery to downstream systems.
Lead the design and implementation of enterprise geospatial dataflows using tools such as Apache NiFi and FME.
Develop and manage complex geospatial ETL workflows, data models, and embedded data quality controls.
Act as a technical escalation point, driving root cause analysis and resolution of complex data and pipeline issues.
Drive continuous improvement, governance alignment, documentation, and mentoring to uplift team capability and engineering practices.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Extensive experience in data engineering, delivering enterprise-scale dataflows and integration solutions.
Strong background in geospatial or spatiotemporal data within enterprise environments.
Proven ability to design, implement, and maintain scalable, automated data pipelines.
Expertise in data integration tools (e.g., Apache NiFi, FME), SQL, data modelling, and performance optimisation.
Proficiency in scripting/programming (e.g., Python, PowerShell) with accountability for data quality in regulated environments.
Strong stakeholder communication, professional judgement, and commitment to continuous improvement in secure or high-compliance settings.
Australian Citizen and hold an active TSPV Clearance.
