About the role
- Provide technical leadership and end-to-end accountability for GIS production activities, ensuring quality, schedule, and compliance objectives are met
- Define, maintain, and evolve production standards, schemas, workflows, and quality criteria aligned to organisational and customer requirements
- Apply advanced spatial analysis and geoprocessing techniques to produce, review, and assure complex geospatial products
- Lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of automated and semi-automated GIS production pipelines and tooling
- Act as escalation point for complex production issues, driving root cause analysis, remediation, and risk-informed technical guidance
- Drive continuous improvement, operational maturity, documentation, and mentoring to uplift team capability and ensure consistent best practice
Requirements
- Extensive experience in GIS production, geospatial data engineering, or enterprise geospatial delivery roles
- Advanced knowledge of GIS platforms and tools (e.g. Esri ArcGIS suite), including enterprise and production environments
- Strong expertise in spatial data models, schemas, coordinate reference systems, geodatabases, and metadata standards
- Demonstrated accountability for geospatial data quality, validation, and assurance in production settings
- Proven experience designing or leading automated, scalable GIS production workflows and pipelines
- Strong stakeholder engagement, professional judgement, and commitment to continuous improvement in regulated or enterprise environments
- Australian Citizen and hold an active TSPV Clearance
