About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Identify efficiency opportunities that may qualify for new construction incentives while having the initiative and interest in keeping up to date on energy efficiency technologies.
- Communicate technical issues across the project team.
- Work closely with architects and engineers to incorporate energy efficiency measures into designs that qualify for utility program incentives.
- Provide and present technical advisement to clients regarding the design, procurement and installation of energy-efficient equipment.
- Advise clients on processes that ensure continuous demand-reduction.
- Support special projects that may include programs that involve the WELL Building Standard, assessing renewable energy, battery storage and EV infrastructure opportunities in the commercial and public building space.
- Identify market opportunities (e.g., high-performance buildings, electrification, passive house) and propose new initiatives or pilots.
- Serve as a primary liaison with utility clients (Mass Save Sponsors), providing updates, insights, and recommendations.
- Provide guidance on advanced building design strategies (high-efficiency HVAC, envelope improvements, electrification, etc.).
- Support regulatory reporting, including participation metrics, savings, and cost-effectiveness.
- Track and analyze program KPIs including energy savings (kWh, therms), participation rates, and pipeline health.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance customer experience and streamline project workflows.
- Collaborate with marketing teams to develop outreach strategies targeting builders and developers.
- Work closely with internal project management team to relay utility objectives and progress projects.
- Support creation of program materials, case studies, and success stories.
- Represent the program at industry events, trainings, and stakeholder meetings.
- Support “Report Automation” development assisted by AI.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Typically requires a Business or Environmental Science degree with 5 years of prior relevant experience delivering utility energy efficiency construction services
- The ability and desire to be: productive, accurate, and organized.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical and statistical knowledge and skills using Excel
- Ability learn proprietary energy management systems.
- This position requires a valid driver’s license and physical ability to perform field verification of pre and post installation of energy efficiency measures.
- Ability to be self-starting—demonstrate initiative---including the ability to collaborate well in a supportive team environment.
- An understanding of building automation systems (BAS)
