About the role
- Support the development of design and construction work packages for electrical overhead and underground distribution systems for electric utility customers
- Assist in reviewing client-provided work and help interpret scope requirements under guidance from senior team members
- Perform basic engineering calculations such as pole loading, guying, conductor sag and tension, and voltage drop with oversight
- Provide support during construction activities, including assisting with post-construction reviews to help ensure compliance with engineering and construction standards
- Assist with analysis of outages and contribute to mitigation efforts using established engineering practices
- Gain experience coordinating with other utilities and field engineering requirements, supporting design efforts for cable/conduit projects, and assisting with permitting, easements, and right-of-way (ROW) documentation
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or Industrial preferred)
- Ability to demonstrate proficiency with the NESC
- Ability to utilize a personal vehicle, as some customer-related travel could be anticipated
- Willingness to perform both field and office work
- Ability to work in outdoor environments on occasion
- Candidates should possess valid U.S. driver's license
