About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Performing design reviews of civil/structural design components in support of the development of bid/construction packages for substation and transmission projects
Functioning as a senior engineer performing design reviews on a regular basis
Developing junior staff members
Contributing to bids and proposal development
Taking a responsible engineer role on main client projects, overseeing the work and ensuring quality control on design packages
Occasional site visits to client substation facilities may be required
Occasional travel for client meetings and industry-related events

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelors of Science (BS) in Civil or Structural Engineering with 4+ years of relevant experience or Masters (MS) degree in engineering with 3+ years of relevant experience in structural engineering
Experience reviewing substation structure design, rigid bus design, foundation design, oil spill containment design, retaining walls, masonry control shelters, and fire-walls
Demonstrated experience executing infrastructure projects for electric utilities
Previous experience working with substation and transmission projects is preferred
Experience with Microsoft Word/Excel/PowerPoint & MATHCAD software
Experience with STAAD.Pro, RISA-3D, FAD Tools, SAFE, SAG10, and LPILE software
Familiarity with AutoCAD and MicroStation
Strong analytical and technical writing skills
Willingness to travel, up to 15%
PE Licensure is highly preferred for candidates with more than 5 years of experience
