About the role
- Provide technical support to the Infrastructure Engineering Center for accomplishment of project engineering packages.
- Develop site specific project plans and specifications for solicitation and contracting of engineering projects for FAA approval and acceptance.
- Perform site surveys to collect site-specific project data and research all standards, construction codes and ordinances.
- Provide analysis, recommendations, and solutions to issues identified during the site survey.
- Prepare summary trip reports within two working days of trip completion.
- Compile and complete project documents such as scope of work and project transmittal, drawing and specification lists, operational risk management checklists, and drawings and specifications.
- Provide technical engineering support for all phases of assigned new construction and renovation projects.
- Participate in Joint Acceptance Inspections (JAI) and Contractor Acceptance Inspections (CAI) on all assigned projects and provide recommended resolutions on all items relating to engineering.
- Perform engineering studies for feasibility and cost versus benefit.
Requirements
- Electrical Engineering Degree required from a college or university accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) with at least 8 – 12 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 6 – 10 years of prior relevant experience.
- Minimum 5 years of experience as Project Engineer and/or Resident Engineer with Electrical Engineering Design and experience with establishing power systems and calculating equipment size requirements.
- Knowledge of Unstaffed Infrastructure Sustainment (UIS) facilities.
- Proficiency in AUTOCAD Software.
- Proficiency in creating and developing Arc flash Analysis.
- Proficiency in SKM Software.
- Experience inspecting electrical systems.
- Ability to travel up to 25-35% of the time.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Security Clearance Suitability.
