About the role
- Prepare summary trip reports within two working days of trip completion
- Compile and complete project documents
- Provide technical engineering support for all phases of assigned new construction and renovation projects (i.e. evaluate shop drawings, design proposals, and interpret the technical requirements for adherence to contract documents)
- Participate in Joint Acceptance Inspections (JAI) and Contractor Acceptance Inspections (CAI) on all assigned projects and provide recommended resolutions on all items relating to engineering
- Perform engineering studies for feasibility and cost versus benefit
- Provide technical input to the Government Technical Interpreter in actions to plan, budget, program, and coordinate the development of engineering projects
- Develop project drawings in accordance with the FAA Standard/guidelines
Requirements
- Civil Engineering Degree required with at least 8 – 12 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 6 – 10 years of prior relevant experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience as Project Engineer and/or Resident Engineer with Civil Engineering Design and experience with tower, shelter and similar structure projects
- Knowledge of multiple of the following, Unstaffed Infrastructure Sustainment (UIS) facilities: Metal equipment towers, Commercial/Industrial Structures, Roof Replacements, Emergency and battery backup systems, Small HVAC systems, Remote site work, Road design, Concrete, Site grading, Equipment shelters, Concrete foundations, Structural, Environmental permitting (NEPA, ARAP, stormwater, etc), Lightning protection and grounding, Hazmat (Pb, Asbestos) abatement, Construction risk management, Utility layout design: water, power, comm, sewer
- Knowledge of Project management software (CWP, Primavera, Microsoft project, etc) and/or Computer aided design (AutoCAD, Microstation)
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Security Clearance Suitability
