About the role

  • Lead design reviews across site layout, grading & drainage design, stormwater modeling & design, erosion & sediment control design, access road design, utility coordination & design, retaining wall layout & design
  • Drive quality assurance for civil components of substation projects
  • Collaborate with other technical disciplines for complex multidisciplinary projects
  • Oversee bid and construction package development
  • Act as lead engineer on client projects
  • Represent Leidos in client-facing engagements
  • Conduct site visits to projects
  • Champion quality control and safe work practices
  • Participate in coaching, guiding and reviewing work of less experienced team members

Requirements

  • B.S. degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited institution
  • Minimum of 8 years of directly applicable civil-site design experience
  • Professional Engineer License
  • Proven Experience as an engineer of record or lead engineer on projects performing QC reviews
  • Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D software (preferred) and/or MicroStation OpenSite Designer software
  • Experience with Hydraflow and various other hydrologic and hydraulic modeling & design programs
  • Ability to execute projects and handle client interaction successfully with limited supervision
  • Experience with high-voltage substation projects is highly preferred
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office suite, Bluebeam, Adobe Acrobat, and other general software tools
  • Strong analytical and technical writing skills.
