Provide engineering consultation for compliance with FAA and industry standards and best practices
Provide recommendations for solutions in all phases of the system’s lifecycle including: contract, policy, site survey, design and design review, and implementation
Perform power system studies: load flow analysis, short circuit analysis, protective device coordination analysis, arc flash risk assessment, and harmonic analysis
Maintain documentation of power system studies for official government records
Participate in process improvements with other peers and clients
Participate in the development, administration, management, logistics, and strategy of project planning and implementation
Develop solutions to complex engineering problems using MATLAB/COMSOL/EDSA/SKM and/or other engineering design tools
Manage National Change Proposal, Configuration Control Board process, and departmental website

Requirements

Bachelors degree from an accredited college in Power Systems, or equivalent experience/combined education
8 to 12 years of professional experience; or 6 years of professional experience with a related Masters degree
Registered Professional Engineer license or Senior member of IEEE is preferred
Power engineering experience combined with electrical engineering degree is a must
Demonstrated experience performing power system studies with minimal supervision
Strong writing skills exhibited through published papers at a national/international engineering organization
Willing to travel up to 50% as required by project needs
