About the role

  • Lead the AI governance intake and assessment process and drive the transformation into a fully automated system
  • Provide guidance to teams across the enterprise on AI intake requirements, assessment criteria, and governance expectations
  • Drive the optimization, automation, and scaling of AI governance processes, including risk assessments, workflows, and compliance tracking
  • Prepare and facilitate the monthly AI Governance Board meetings, including agenda development, material preparation, decision support, and continuous improvement
  • Develop and maintain reporting on Leidos’ AI risk posture, governance pipeline, policy compliance, and novel risk trends across the AI use case inventory
  • Coordinate communication across the Chief AI Office, Sector technology teams, legal, compliance, security, and business functions

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 12+ years of experience, or 10+ years with a Master's degree
  • Experience in AI governance, data governance, risk management, technology strategy, or related operational leadership roles
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex cross-functional processes and maintain high levels of operational rigor
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical or risk information into clear, concise, and actionable insights for audiences ranging from technical contributors to executives
  • Background supporting governance boards, councils, or decision bodies
  • Strong familiarity with AI/ML concepts, model risk, and enterprise risk frameworks (preferred)
  • Experience with the application of AI risk frameworks is a bonus
  • Knowledge of emerging AI regulatory frameworks, risk management standards, and governance best practices.
