About the role
- Perform conceptual and detailed HV and MV Substation Physical/Electrical design
- Perform advanced engineering studies and calculations
- Perform Quality Control reviews on medium to large substation physical design projects
- Create and review bill of materials for substation physical projects
- Develop and review proposals, and scopes of work for substation physical projects
- Provide leadership and mentorship to junior engineers
- Involved in client interaction with a drive for customer satisfaction
- Develop and provide advanced technical presentations to the team
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, civil or related degree
- Eight (8+) plus years of Substation physical design experience
- Leadership experience in executing substation projects
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to lead bids and proposal effort for utility clients
- Ability to perform quality control checks on substation design projects
- Act as a supervisor for one to six direct reports
- Ability to read and design substation physical drawings
- Ability to read and design substation protection and control drawings
- Experience with grounding studies/lightning protection and lighting studies
- Ability to attend site visit at customer location
