About the role

  • Evaluates, plans, directs, and administers programs of Occupational Therapy (OT) to restore function and prevent disability
  • Provides assessment of the patient condition based on diagnosis from the referring physician
  • Develops and updates plan of care in collaboration with patient and family to assist in returning to maximum function
  • Implements individualized treatment plans using evidence-based techniques: therapeutic exercises, manual techniques, functional mobility training, ADL training, splinting/DME, and modalities
  • Performs reassessment and modifies Occupational Therapy plans accordingly
  • Communicates patient progress and physical limitations to supervisor, physician, and team members
  • Provides supervision in accordance with regulatory requirements, as appropriate
  • Establishes treatment plans with measurable goals and time frames
  • Provides cost effective care per departmental billing guidelines
  • Completes and submits all documentation based on policies, standards and regulatory requirements

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree Occupational Therapy
  • Less than 1 year experience
  • Successfully completed clinical experiences as required by the school program
  • Demonstrates sound clinical reasoning in synthesizing data gathered in the evaluation and identifying treatment diagnoses
  • Knowledge of occupational therapy techniques
  • Must be able to communicate with patients, family, and co-workers in a friendly, supportive manner
  • Must be able to provide safe, compassionate, and competent occupational therapy treatments
  • Ability to travel to patient care assignments - Home Care only
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support - State of Pennsylvania Upon Hire
  • OT - Licensed Occupational Therapist - State of Pennsylvania Upon Hire
  • Preferred: Master’s Degree Occupational Therapy or Doctorate Occupational Therapy
  • Preferred: 1 year Clinical experience for Home Care
  • Physical demands: Lift and carry 40-50 lbs; push/pull patients (29 lbs push force); lateral transfers up to 50 lbs; frequent standing/walking; kneeling, bending, squatting, performing CPR
