About the role
- Provides mental health assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and crisis intervention services for adult and/or child members
- Coordinates care for clients and assists them in accessing services and resources
- Conducts clinical assessments for interpretation and treatment intervention
- Utilizes management activity to include authorization of services as well as management of denial and appeal process
- Provides case management and care coordination services for patients
- Acts as a liaison between patients, referral sources, and funders
- Ensures all patient discharge planning documentation is clear, concise, timely, and congruent with treatment team recommendations
- Manages all elements of mental health voluntary and involuntary commitments processes
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree Social Work, Psychology, or related field
- Actively enrolled in a related Masters degree program
- Ability to remain patient and calm in stressful situations
- Must have knowledge of community resources and understanding of how to make appropriate referrals to community and other governmental agencies for services
- Understanding of the psychosocial/medical needs of clients in order to formulate an integrated, comprehensive care plan
