About the role
- Evaluates, plans, directs, and administers programs of Occupational Therapy (OT) and conducts OT programs to restore function, prevent disability, and help patients reach their maximum level of independence.
- Provides assessment of the patient condition based on diagnosis from the referring physician.
- Develops and updates an appropriate plan of care in collaboration with patient and family to assist in returning them to a maximum level of function.
- Facilitates participation in everyday living.
- Improves and facilitates quality of life through prescribed exercise, hands on care, and patient education.
- Helps people regain or maintain their independence and lead active lives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree Occupational Therapy
- Less than 1 year
- Successfully completed clinical experiences as required by the school program.
- Demonstrates sound clinical reasoning
- Knowledge of occupational therapy techniques
- Must be able to communicate with patients, family, and co-workers in a friendly, supportive manner.
- Must be able to provide safe, compassionate, and competent occupational therapy treatments.
- Ability to travel to patient care assignments - Home Care only
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support - State of Pennsylvania Upon Hire
- OT - Licensed Occupational Therapist - State of Pennsylvania Upon Hire
