About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Assist lead teachers in planning, developing, and implementing age-appropriate curriculum
Support lead teachers in devising and delivering daily lesson plans
Assist students individually or in small groups with lesson assignments and learning concepts
Adapt classroom activities, assignments, and materials to support classroom goals
Monitor students in classrooms, playgrounds, and other settings to provide a safe learning environment
Assist students during lunchtime, toileting, and washing activities
Enforce cleanup activities after lunchtime by modeling appropriate behavior
Maintain classroom equipment, work areas, files, records, and sign-in/sign-out logs
Perform clerical tasks such as laminating, making posters and copies, preparing bulletin boards, filing, and newsletters
Provide comfort and security through nurturing behavior
Report student observations and incidents to instructional or administrative personnel
Travel between campuses from time to time and perform local and in-state travel

Requirements

What you’ll need

High School Diploma or GED
Food Handler’s Card/Certification
Must be able to obtain and hold a valid IVP Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card at all times
Must pass a criminal history background check
CPR and First Aid Certified
Ability to interact positively with students, parents, teachers, and administrators
At least 6 months of experience working in an Early Childcare setting
Ability to create a safe learning environment conducive to learning
Ability to collaborate with teachers and school staff
Strong communication and organizational skills
Ability to maintain a flexible work schedule
Ability to maintain a professional appearance
Ability to lift objects up to 25 pounds on occasion
Local and in-state travel required
