About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assist lead teachers in planning, developing, and implementing age-appropriate curriculum
- Support lead teachers in devising and delivering daily lesson plans
- Assist students individually or in small groups with lesson assignments and learning concepts
- Adapt classroom activities, assignments, and materials to support classroom goals
- Monitor students in classrooms, playgrounds, and other settings to provide a safe learning environment
- Assist students during lunchtime, toileting, and washing activities
- Enforce cleanup activities after lunchtime by modeling appropriate behavior
- Maintain classroom equipment, work areas, files, records, and sign-in/sign-out logs
- Perform clerical tasks such as laminating, making posters and copies, preparing bulletin boards, filing, and newsletters
- Provide comfort and security through nurturing behavior
- Report student observations and incidents to instructional or administrative personnel
- Travel between campuses from time to time and perform local and in-state travel
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School Diploma or GED
- Food Handler’s Card/Certification
- Must be able to obtain and hold a valid IVP Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card at all times
- Must pass a criminal history background check
- CPR and First Aid Certified
- Ability to interact positively with students, parents, teachers, and administrators
- At least 6 months of experience working in an Early Childcare setting
- Ability to create a safe learning environment conducive to learning
- Ability to collaborate with teachers and school staff
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to maintain a flexible work schedule
- Ability to maintain a professional appearance
- Ability to lift objects up to 25 pounds on occasion
- Local and in-state travel required
