About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Assist lead teachers in planning, developing, and implementing age-appropriate curriculum
  • Support lead teachers in devising and delivering daily lesson plans
  • Assist students individually or in small groups with lesson assignments and learning concepts
  • Adapt classroom activities, assignments, and materials to support classroom goals
  • Monitor students in classrooms, playgrounds, and other settings to provide a safe learning environment
  • Assist students during lunchtime, toileting, and washing activities
  • Enforce cleanup activities after lunchtime by modeling appropriate behavior
  • Maintain classroom equipment, work areas, files, records, and sign-in/sign-out logs
  • Perform clerical tasks such as laminating, making posters and copies, preparing bulletin boards, filing, and newsletters
  • Provide comfort and security through nurturing behavior
  • Report student observations and incidents to instructional or administrative personnel
  • Travel between campuses from time to time and perform local and in-state travel

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Food Handler’s Card/Certification
  • Must be able to obtain and hold a valid IVP Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card at all times
  • Must pass a criminal history background check
  • CPR and First Aid Certified
  • Ability to interact positively with students, parents, teachers, and administrators
  • At least 6 months of experience working in an Early Childcare setting
  • Ability to create a safe learning environment conducive to learning
  • Ability to collaborate with teachers and school staff
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to maintain a flexible work schedule
  • Ability to maintain a professional appearance
  • Ability to lift objects up to 25 pounds on occasion
  • Local and in-state travel required
