About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Evaluate and treat patients for swallowing disorders and communication/cognitive impairments using evidence-based therapeutic techniques
Establish treatment goals and develop and implement Speech Pathology treatment programs based on full clinical evaluations
Provide rehabilitative services under specific medical orders as part of a coordinated team
Participate in clinical conferences to share and coordinate patient plans of care
Treat residents one-on-one through private treatment sessions using a functional-based treatment approach
Deliver personalized rehabilitative care to senior patients in senior living communities

Requirements

What you’ll need

Master’s degree from an accredited graduate program in speech-language pathology
Current state license as a Speech Language Pathologist / SLP, or ability to obtain prior to beginning employment
Excellent interpersonal, fiscal, and clinical skills
Ability to evaluate and treat swallowing disorders
Ability to assess and treat communication and cognitive impairments
Ability to develop and implement Speech Pathology treatment programs
Ability to provide rehabilitative services under medical orders and coordinate patient care
