Key responsibilities & impact
  • Evaluate and treat patients for swallowing disorders and communication/cognitive impairments using evidence-based therapeutic techniques
  • Establish treatment goals and develop and implement Speech Pathology treatment programs based on full clinical evaluations
  • Provide rehabilitative services under specific medical orders as part of a coordinated team
  • Participate in clinical conferences to share and coordinate patient plans of care
  • Treat residents one-on-one through private treatment sessions using a functional-based treatment approach
  • Deliver personalized rehabilitative care to senior patients in senior living communities

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Master’s degree from an accredited graduate program in speech-language pathology
  • Current state license as a Speech Language Pathologist / SLP, or ability to obtain prior to beginning employment
  • Excellent interpersonal, fiscal, and clinical skills
  • Ability to evaluate and treat swallowing disorders
  • Ability to assess and treat communication and cognitive impairments
  • Ability to develop and implement Speech Pathology treatment programs
  • Ability to provide rehabilitative services under medical orders and coordinate patient care
