About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Evaluate and treat patients for swallowing disorders and communication/cognitive impairments using evidence-based therapeutic techniques
- Establish treatment goals and develop and implement Speech Pathology treatment programs based on full clinical evaluations
- Provide rehabilitative services under specific medical orders as part of a coordinated team
- Participate in clinical conferences to share and coordinate patient plans of care
- Treat residents one-on-one through private treatment sessions using a functional-based treatment approach
- Deliver personalized rehabilitative care to senior patients in senior living communities
Requirements
What you’ll need- Master’s degree from an accredited graduate program in speech-language pathology
- Current state license as a Speech Language Pathologist / SLP, or ability to obtain prior to beginning employment
- Excellent interpersonal, fiscal, and clinical skills
- Ability to evaluate and treat swallowing disorders
- Ability to assess and treat communication and cognitive impairments
- Ability to develop and implement Speech Pathology treatment programs
- Ability to provide rehabilitative services under medical orders and coordinate patient care
