About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Engage with insurance companies to follow up on unpaid insurance accounts, leveraging aging reports.
- Identify and report trends and issues related to billing and reimbursements to your Supervisor.
- Process appeals independently and handle billing calls and questions from patients and third-party carriers.
- Analyze and interpret claims to ensure accuracy in submissions to insurance companies.
- Communicate effectively with internal and external customers through phone calls and written communications.
- Research and document account activity, posting adjustments as necessary.
- Maintain patient confidence and protect medical office operations by keeping patient information confidential.
- Contribute to the team effort by accomplishing related results as needed and performing other duties as assigned.
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School Diploma/GED
- Minimum of two years of related experience in a business, medical or technical environment.
- Previous experience in a medical office setting and/or experience with an Electronic Medical Record is a plus.
- Customer service driven.
- Understanding of medical terminology and insurance laws/guidelines.
- Excellent organization and time management skills along with excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong team player.
- Ability to learn quickly, build and maintain long-term relationships and work with minimal supervision.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; strong analytical, organizational and time management skills required.
- Must be able to manage multiple deadlines and decision-making responsibilities.
