About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Build, maintain, and improve modern, highly available, scalable, and secure AWS cloud infrastructure for AI-powered products
- Use AI tools to improve productivity and effectiveness
- Optimize system performance and troubleshoot complex issues
- Implement proactive monitoring solutions
- Automate infrastructure deployments and operational tasks
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams for seamless product integration and delivery
- Continuously improve infrastructure and operational processes
- Support and maintain the live production system
- Participate in the shared global CloudOps on-call roster
Requirements
What you’ll need- 5+ years managing large-scale production systems
- 3+ years developing solutions and improvements for large-scale systems
- Experience working in a global, distributed team environment
- Platform engineering experience
- Strong proficiency in Python for scripting and automation
- Extensive experience with Docker and containerised applications and systems
- Proficiency in POSIX shell scripting, including awk, sed, and grep
- Strong Git version control skills
- Experience with GitHub Actions and Workflows
- Advanced Linux skills, including iptables, systemd, logging, application management, diagnosis, and sysctl tweaking
- Strong experience with AWS services including EC2, ALB/NLB, VPCs, IAM, RDS, ECS, Route53, and CloudFront
- Experience maintaining large-scale legacy systems and performing migrations
- Experience with large-scale databases and database administration, ideally MariaDB and PostgreSQL on Amazon RDS
- Experience with metrics and monitoring systems, ideally Datadog and CloudWatch
- Strong networking background, including TCP/IP and routing protocols is nice to have
- Experience optimizing database performance and resolving performance issues is nice to have
- Must have the right to live and work in Ireland
