About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Support month-end close, analysis and reporting
Preparation and analysis of journal entries and financial activity
Preparation of monthly general ledger reconciliations
Entry and reconciliation of revenue, accounts receivable, and cash receipts
Continuous and proactive improvement of processes and controls
Manage and provide detailed analysis as the subject matter expert for their area of accounting responsibility
Reports to the Controller or Assistant Controller
May manage one or more Staff Accountants

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or business required; CPA preferred
5+ years’ experience in accounting
Strong practical working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Proficiency with Microsoft Dynamics (Great Plains)
Advanced knowledge of MS Excel essential
Experience with insurance billing, services business, project-based accounting systems, time and materials contracts, and/or labor-based invoicing a plus
Analytic, detail-oriented, and inquisitive
Demonstrated ability to meet monthly closing and project deadlines
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Self-starter with a strong sense of urgency and accountability
Desire to take on increasing responsibility
