About the role

  • Instruct and coordinate the activities of all personnel in the department to maintain top efficiency and productivity
  • Contact and coordinate work with outside contractors, vendors, and suppliers
  • Interpret and enforce company policies and safety regulations
  • Study production schedules and estimate worker hour requirements for completion of job assignments
  • Analyze and resolve work problems or assist employees in solving work problems
  • Assist in troubleshooting PLC related issues
  • Responsible for setting up and maintaining adequate parts and supplies to minimize production downtime
  • Ensure plant security is maintained
  • Assist in launch programs, as necessary
  • Recommend measures to improve efficiency as it relates to production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product
  • Confer with other Engineers to coordinate activities
  • Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of any nonconformances related to product, process, and quality systems
  • Identify and record any problems related to the product, process, and quality system
  • Initiate, recommend, or provide solutions through designated channels
  • Verify implementation of solutions
  • Control further processing, delivery, or installation of nonconforming product until the deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has been corrected
  • Directly supervise hourly maintenance technician employees
  • Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units

Requirements

  • Associate Degree, two years of related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree Preferred
  • 5-years of leadership experience, (preferably in a maintenance department)
  • Experience with PLC’s (Control Logix, Micro Logix, Compact Logix & SLC 500 – Rockwell software) – being able to understand ladder logic and make programming changes
  • Experience with automation equipment (i.e., industrial robots, AGV, vision systems)
  • Basic Computer skills
