About the role
- Instruct and coordinate the activities of all personnel in the department to maintain top efficiency and productivity
- Contact and coordinate work with outside contractors, vendors, and suppliers
- Interpret and enforce company policies and safety regulations
- Study production schedules and estimate worker hour requirements for completion of job assignments
- Analyze and resolve work problems or assist employees in solving work problems
- Assist in troubleshooting PLC related issues
- Responsible for setting up and maintaining adequate parts and supplies to minimize production downtime
- Ensure plant security is maintained
- Assist in launch programs, as necessary
- Recommend measures to improve efficiency as it relates to production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product
- Confer with other Engineers to coordinate activities
- Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of any nonconformances related to product, process, and quality systems
- Identify and record any problems related to the product, process, and quality system
- Initiate, recommend, or provide solutions through designated channels
- Verify implementation of solutions
- Control further processing, delivery, or installation of nonconforming product until the deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has been corrected
- Directly supervise hourly maintenance technician employees
- Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units
Requirements
- Associate Degree, two years of related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Bachelor’s Degree Preferred
- 5-years of leadership experience, (preferably in a maintenance department)
- Experience with PLC’s (Control Logix, Micro Logix, Compact Logix & SLC 500 – Rockwell software) – being able to understand ladder logic and make programming changes
- Experience with automation equipment (i.e., industrial robots, AGV, vision systems)
- Basic Computer skills
