About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Troubleshoot, repair, program, maintain, and replace CSU/DSU, switch equipment, routers, and essential network devices.
  • Install and maintain specialized communication hardware including telephones, paging networks, fire alarms, intrusion alarms, teleconference equipment, and computer data circuits.
  • Extend, test, and troubleshoot critical telecommunication circuits including T1, 56K, ISDN, and advanced data lines.
  • Evaluate both inside and outside infrastructure cable plants; design and create equipment route paths utilizing copper and fiber media.
  • Analyze system failures and unusual network occurrences to isolate the problem source, determining technical causality between software, hardware, or environmental factors.
  • Actively manage the daily lifecycle of trouble tickets, executing moves, adds, and changes (MACs) to complete and officially close work orders.
  • Perform comprehensive facility site surveys using complex technical documents to assist in the development of project job planning.
  • Analyze, assign, and distribute incoming work orders to technicians as designated by management.
  • Assume full operational authority and serve as the acting Project Manager/Supervisor in the absence of the Telecommunications PM.
  • Maintain rigorous manual and computerized office records, including equipment detail records, cabling manifests, and parts inventory databases.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Must be a high school graduate or equivalent
  • Must possess or obtain CompTIA Network+ or equivalent credential
  • Must possess or obtain CompTIA A+ or equivalent credential
  • Must possess or obtain a formal Desktop PC Repair Certification
  • Must possess or obtain an iBwave Design Level 3 Certification
  • Must possess a minimum of five (5) years of documented telecommunications experience
  • Highly proficient in business software applications (i.e.: Microsoft Office – Outlook, Word, Excel, Project, SharePoint, and PowerPoint)
