About the role

  • Own quality, think critically, and test creatively across products.
  • Perform comprehensive functional and non-functional testing to uncover subtle issues and validate behavior across multiple scenarios.
  • Actively take part in the discovery and design phases of new product feature development and promote continuous testing.
  • Design effective test cases by analysing acceptance criteria to craft test cases with maximum coverage and edge-case consideration.
  • Use tools like JIRA for ticket tracking, Xray for test management, and Swagger for API checks.
  • Identify, document, and track bugs, providing actionable feedback to engineers, PMs, and designers.
  • Act as a key liaison to the QA Manager and support Senior QA engineers in shaping testing strategies and improving team processes.
  • Mentor and support junior QA engineers by sharing knowledge and modelling best practices in manual testing.
  • Communicate proactively with stakeholders on testing status, risks, and blockers to meet release deadlines.
  • Contribute to future automation efforts while keeping manual testing as the core focus.
  • Set scalable strategies in the team and create an environment for QA engineers to thrive.
  • This is a 6-month contract of full time hours (hybrid, office in Ayala, Makati).

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a similar field.
  • Ideally more than 3 years in manual testing (QA Manual testing).
  • Hands-on QA background with manual testing experience.
  • Experience with agile development styles and finding scalable solutions to fit team processes.
  • Strong leadership experience in implementing and shaping QA processes and strategies.
  • Focus on continuous QA improvements including usage of appropriate testing tools and test techniques.
  • Strong communication skills with key stakeholders to ensure QA vision is understood and implemented correctly.
  • Experience working with engineers and a decent understanding of web tech stacks (backend, frontend, and everything in between).
  • Attention to detail.
  • Problem-solving skills and combination of creativity, logic and critical thinking.
  • Experience or familiarity with tools mentioned: JIRA (ticket tracking), Xray (test management), Swagger (API checks).
  • Be open to hybrid setup in Makati (2-3 days onsite Monday to Wednesday) and available for 11:00 AM - 8:00 PM shift.
  • Willingness to contribute to future automation efforts (learn Robot Framework or Selenium) (bonus).
