About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assist attorneys in the preparation and filing of immigration petitions, applications, and legal documents.
- Conduct legal research and stay up-to-date on the latest immigration laws, regulations, and procedures.
- Prepare and compile supporting documents for various immigration cases, including family-based and humanitarian visas.
- Communicate with clients to gather necessary information, provide case updates, and address any concerns.
- Maintain and organize client files, ensuring all documents are properly filed and easily accessible.
- Draft legal correspondence and forms, ensuring accuracy and compliance with legal standards.
- Coordinate and schedule appointments with USCIS and other immigration agencies.
- Monitor case status and deadlines, ensuring timely submission of all required documentation.
- Assist in preparing clients for interviews and hearings, providing them with guidance and support.
- Collaborate with the legal team to develop case strategies and achieve positive outcomes for clients.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum of 2 years of experience as an Immigration Paralegal or in a related legal field.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. immigration laws, procedures, and forms.
- Proficiency in legal research and writing.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines simultaneously.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency in using legal software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Bilingual skills (especially in Spanish) are a plus.
