About the role
- Detail-oriented Tax Accountant/Preparer responsible for gathering client financial information, making bookkeeping entries, and preparing tax returns
- Prepare business tax returns including corporate, partnership, and LLC returns
- Prepare individual tax returns including Form 1040 and related schedules
- Communicate with clients to gather necessary information and answer tax-related questions
- Stay current with tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance
- Provide tax planning and advice to clients as needed
- Maintain client confidentiality and ensure data security
- Hybrid role: Remote 2-3 days per week; based in Gaithersburg, MD
Requirements
- Strong understanding of tax laws and regulations
- Excellent analytical and communication skills
- Experience preparing business tax returns (corporate, partnership, LLC)
- Experience preparing individual tax returns (Form 1040 and related schedules)
- Ability to gather and review client financial information and make bookkeeping entries
- Ability to provide tax planning and advice to clients
- Maintain client confidentiality and ensure data security
