About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide HR support to specific business units and departments, primarily supporting Plant Operations and a non-exempt workforce
- Partner with business leaders to identify HR needs and develop effective solutions
- Implement talent management, employee engagement, performance management, and succession-planning initiatives
- Coach and mentor employees and advise managers on HR policies, procedures, and best practices
- Maintain knowledge of employment laws, reduce legal risks, and ensure regulatory compliance
- Act as a change agent through process design supporting change and transformation
- Conduct regular visits to partnered plant locations
- Partner with hiring managers to interview candidates for open positions
- Improve work relationships, morale, productivity, engagement, and retention
- Manage and resolve complex employee-relations issues, conflicts, investigations, offboarding, exit interviews, and terminations
- Document disciplinary actions and organize employee events and activities
- Provide performance-management guidance and develop Individual Development Plans
- Manage internal applicant processes and communications with internal candidates
- Manage the Disciplinary Points program and improve related systems and procedures
- Maintain employee records and HRIS; create, generate, and analyze reports
- Participate in quarterly new-hire orientation and ensure proper onboarding and completed paperwork
Requirements
What you’ll need- 4+ years of progressive experience in Human Resources
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Psychology, or a related area
- PHR or SPHR preferred
- Knowledge of Workday highly desired
- Demonstrated success creating and managing performance programs, including improvement and development plans
- Strong experience conducting internal investigations
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Thorough knowledge of employment laws
- Strong knowledge of human resource administration principles and practices
- Excellent written, oral, listening, and idea-expression abilities
- Strong presentation skills
- Strong problem-solving and qualitative-data analysis abilities
- Exceptional analytical, quantitative, and deduction skills
- Ability to work independently and harmoniously with a team
- Ability to lead, participate in, and manage large-scale projects
- Ability to manage multiple assignments with shifting priorities and deadlines
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Must be able to travel 20%
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds
- Must be able to stand/walk 25% of the day
