About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Working with team members and independently to execute data science and advanced analytics solutions that provide answers to key business problems and ultimately drive actions for stakeholders throughout the organization
  • Aggregating data from a variety of non-server-based sources, identifies new sources, and streamlines collection and processing where possible
  • Applying knowledge of statistics, predictive modeling, and advanced mathematics to highlight patterns, identify trends, predict future outcomes, answer key business questions, and make valuable discoveries from given non-server data sets
  • Summarizing complex findings and advice for stakeholders of varying levels of analytical knowledge so that insights are easily digestible and actionable
  • Promoting effective work practices, working as a team member, and showing respect for co-workers
  • Protecting and maintaining any highly sensitive, confidential, privileged, financial, and/or proprietary information that Latham & Watkins retains

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Data Science, Statistics, Math, Economics or related field
  • A minimum of three (3) years’ relevant work experience in data science, data consulting, or applied statistics
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of advanced statistical techniques and predictive modeling and experience with proper applications and interpretations of results (i.e. clustering, regression analysis, random forest, etc.)
  • Possess the ability to accurately perform and comprehend results of advanced analytics and modeling techniques and communicate data findings to senior management
  • Exhibit proficiency with Python
