About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Overseeing business development (BD) strategy and execution across the Texas market and developing and implementing the Texas market strategy, local growth targets, and regional go ‑ to ‑ market plans
  • Collaborating closely with business development leads supporting the Energy & Infrastructure Group, as well as corporate, litigation, and industry ‑ focused teams to align Texas priorities with broader strategic objectives
  • Building strong relationships with partners, counsel, and associates in the Texas offices to establish a role as a trusted advisor
  • Developing a comprehensive understanding of practices and clients in Texas to drive strategic priorities, including client engagement and relationship building
  • Providing research, analysis, and reporting to support the identification and development of new clients and the enhancement of existing client relationships
  • Working with partners to shape and execute their business development plans while ensuring alignment with group strategy
  • Playing an active role in the integration of lateral partners and the development of junior partners
  • Protecting and maintaining any highly sensitive, confidential, privileged, financial, and/or proprietary information that Latham & Watkins retains

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • A minimum of 7-10 years of cumulative business development experience
  • Relevant experience within a legal or law firm environment, preferably
