About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Acting as a tax specialist for the firm with regard to preparing income tax return schedules and other tax compliance workbooks
  • Analyzing data provided by the Accounting & Finance Department
  • Preparing tax schedules for the preparation of U.S. federal and state partnership income tax returns, sales and use tax returns, and other tax compliance requirements
  • Assisting in coordinating the process of providing information to external tax accountants
  • Working with the Senior Tax Analysts to prepare certain general ledger analyses and perform quality assurance procedures
  • Calculating and preparing the partners’ U.S. and international tax calculations
  • Maintaining a compliance schedule of all U.S. federal, state, and international tax returns
  • Protecting and maintaining any highly sensitive, confidential, privileged, financial, and/or proprietary information that Latham & Watkins retains

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • A bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field
  • A Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license or working progress toward CPA license, preferably
  • A minimum of one (1) year of experience in public accounting at a multi-office professional services organization, preferably
  • Experience with preparing U.S. federal and state partnership income tax returns, preferably
