About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Developing and supervising the Southern California Litigation Services teams and playing an active role in hiring, assignment, training, and evaluation of the staff
- Using Westlaw, Lexis products (including Lexis+ AI, CourtLink and Lex Machina), and other research platforms to provide high-level legal research and analysis with respect to procedural issues across many jurisdictions
- Demonstrating an advanced knowledge of applicable court rules and procedures and applying court rules in multiple jurisdictions quickly, efficiently, and in a manner that instills confidence and ensures risk management
- Developing a repository of judicial insight, including reviewing transcripts to identify themes relevant to pending matters, compiling case precedent, recent decisions of interest, reversal rates, motion timing analytics, and judicial biography
- Preparing procedural road maps in advance of major court filings to flag applicable rules and requirements
Requirements
What you’ll need- A J.D. degree from an ABA-accredited law school
- Current bar admission in the state of the practice office or its main jurisdiction of litigation
- A minimum of seven (7) years of experience working in a Litigation Services role; in lieu of this, a minimum of five (5) years of experience as a litigation associate and/or as a court employee may be considered
- A minimum of three (3) years of experience in a supervisory capacity, preferably
