About the role
- Acting as product owner for assigned legal technology platforms, with end‑to‑end accountability across discovery, piloting, launch, adoption, and ongoing optimization
- Translating practice group and legal operations requirements into clear product requirements, user stories, and prioritization decisions
- Serving as the primary decision‑maker on scope, sequencing, and tradeoffs throughout the product lifecycle, balancing user needs, technical feasibility, vendor capabilities, and strategic value
- Defining, tracking, and evaluating key performance indicators (KPIs), adoption metrics, and value realization to guide iteration and investment decisions
- Leading horizon‑scanning efforts to identify and assess emerging legal and adjacent technologies while maintaining awareness of the legal technology vendor landscape
- Owning and coordinating pilot programs and proof‑of‑concept initiatives, including defining success criteria, drafting requirements, evaluating solutions, and managing testing and feedback
- Protecting and maintaining any highly sensitive, confidential, privileged, financial, and/or proprietary information that Latham & Watkins retains
Requirements
- Expertise in horizon scanning and market intelligence, with a strong understanding of legal technology categories and adjacent emerging technologies
- Strong product management capabilities, including user personas, user stories, scoping, requirements documentation, roadmap planning, and user testing
- Advanced strategic project management skills, including business case development, financial analysis, and return on investment (ROI) modelling
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent in law, business, information systems, or a related field, preferably A Juris Doctor (J.D.)
- A minimum of five (5) years of experience supporting legal technology and innovation
