About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Take ownership of the full lifecycle of your team’s products, from understanding the problem to releasing features.
Drive technical direction within the team, making architecture and design decisions.
Stay hands-on in development, contributing significantly to the codebase.
Ensure code quality through reviews, best practices, and a focus on testing.
Monitor and operate systems in production, improving reliability.
Collaborate with Platform Engineering to improve shared systems and developer experience.
Support and mentor engineers within the team.
Contribute to improving engineering standards and decisions.
Help translate product goals into clear technical approaches.

Requirements

What you’ll need

A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science (or equivalent through experience).
At least 8 years of work experience in the position of Backend Software Engineer in an agile organization, preferably product-led.
Experience in designing or maintaining asynchronous, event-driven architectures and handling high-throughput, high-load scenarios.
Proficiency in cloud infrastructure, particularly AWS services like SQS.
Working experience in Go.
Familiarity with relational databases and NoSQL stores like Redis.
Daily usage of containers, specifically Docker.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and broader DevOps practices is a plus.
Ability to refactor existing code and improve quality.
Command of the Dutch and/or English language.
