About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Handle calls on demand and render the meaning of conversations between Hmong and English speakers.
- Break the communication barrier in various industries, including healthcare, government, and business.
- Process information quickly and recognize sensitive cultural differences.
- Maintain professionalism and courtesy during interpreting sessions.
- Deliver interpretation services via video and expediently type data on a dedicated device.
- Follow client instructions and understand protocol for various industries.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Fluency in Hmong and English and skilled in the associated cultural dynamics.
- Ability to provide cultural competency and assess regional and accent differences.
- Excellent listening, retention and note-taking skills to maintain a high level of accuracy during interpretation.
- Ability to concentrate, stay detached from the conversation, remain neutral and objective at all times.
- Education or work experience in language-related fields such as teaching, language assessment, translation or interpretation preferred.
- Must be able to adapt to any LLS technology enhancements.
