About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage employee relations cases from initial consultation through to resolution
  • Provide expert advice on disciplinary, grievance, conduct, capability and absence management matters
  • Advise managers on People policies, procedures and UK employment legislation
  • Support family leave and flexible working cases
  • Conduct and oversee investigations, hearings and appeals where required
  • Coach, influence and constructively challenge managers to promote best practice people management
  • Identify trends and opportunities to improve policies, processes and manager capability
  • Maintain accurate case records and ensure compliance with data protection requirements

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Significant experience in an Employee Relations or HR Advisory role with a strong ER focus
  • Proven experience managing disciplinary, grievance, capability and absence cases from start to finish
  • Strong practical knowledge of UK employment law and its workplace application
  • Excellent coaching, influencing and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong investigation, analytical and decision-making capability
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain professionalism under pressure
  • Experience working within a fast-paced operational environment (desirable)
  • Experience supporting frontline or blue-collar workforces (desirable)
  • CIPD Level 5 qualification or currently working towards it (desirable)
