About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Ensuring the smooth and reliable operation of Barnet Council’s CCTV and public space surveillance services
Managing and supporting the technical infrastructure behind the CCTV service
Monitoring performance, resolving faults, maintaining systems in line with contracts
Working closely with specialist suppliers and service providers
Contributing to intelligence gathering and effective use of CCTV to help reduce crime and anti-social behaviour
Deputizing for the Head of Service when required, including assisting with budget and project oversight

Requirements

What you’ll need

Degree-level qualification in a relevant discipline or equivalent professional experience
Proven track record of delivering intelligence-led, evidence-based outcomes
Strong technical knowledge of CCTV systems, enterprise video management platforms and associated infrastructure
Up-to-date understanding of the legal and regulatory frameworks governing surveillance, enforcement and data protection
Effective leadership experience managing people and complex work programmes
Excellent judgement, service improvement capability
