About the role
- Underwrite senior housing investment opportunities, including acquisitions, developments, recapitalizations, and platform investments.
- Build and maintain detailed financial models to evaluate property‑level and portfolio‑level returns and support investment recommendations.
- Support the management of Landmark’s existing senior housing portfolio, including hold/sell/refinance analyses.
- Facilitate due diligence efforts for complex transactions, coordinating with internal teams and third‑party consultants.
- Assist in the development of investment templates, underwriting assumptions, and processes as the senior housing strategy is established.
- Prepare investment memoranda, presentations, and supporting materials for senior leadership and the Investment Committee.
- Collaborate with Asset Management, operations teams, and equity partners on budgeting, business planning, and value‑creation initiatives.
- Support capital raising and capital markets initiatives by assisting with investor reporting and maintaining relationships with equity and debt partners.
- Participate in site visits, conferences, and other planned travel related to investment activity.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field; Master’s degree is a plus.
- Approximately 1–3 years of relevant experience in real estate, private equity, investment banking, or a related investment role.
- Senior housing experience is preferred but not required; candidates with strong fundamentals and exposure to other asset classes will be considered.
- Demonstrated hands‑on financial modeling experience.
- Strong financial modeling skills, including pro forma analysis and cash flow projections.
- Solid understanding of real estate investment concepts, including IRR, ROI, and risk‑adjusted returns.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage beyond a “numbers‑only” role.
- Highly motivated, entrepreneurial self‑starter comfortable working in a less structured, fast‑paced environment.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, ask thoughtful questions, and collaborate closely with leadership.
