About the role
- Provide Radio Frequency (RF) MESH AMR Pocket Network design and validation for various process steps leading up to a contracted client engagement, during the actual deployment and troubleshooting
- Defining network hardware requirements and performance capabilities in support of specific client RFI, RFP, and Deployment Contract Awards
- Perform network design activities for the local area network (LAN) and wide area network (WAN) elements of the total solution
- Maintaining, evaluating, analyzing, and utilizing high performance databases associated with client-provided and purchased data
- Supporting engineering field trials and day-to-day support of System Solutions function
- Providing mapping, demographic, and geographic data management services
- Working with large amounts of data utilizing various RF models and mapping applications
- Continuing to validate and evolve RF and data models to ensure that the current model used for projecting network solutions is in conformance with the latest technology developments and new product introductions.
Requirements
- Knowledge of Electric / Water / Gas utility metering industry desired
- Antenna knowledge related to propagation models desired
- Experience with Radio Frequency technology (low power RF preferred)
- Knowledge of Radio Frequency propagation models desired
- Experience with mapping software (e.g., MapInfo)
- Experience working with demographic and geographic data
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Strong technical documentation skills
- Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities
